October 27th, 2013 was a beautiful Sunday in New England and McLaren Greenwich couldn’t have chosen a better day to host their 1st annual McLaren owners rally. The turnout of McLarens was unbelievable and ranged from the modern MP4-12C, to a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, to the legendary McLaren F1! What more could you ask for. My ride for the day was a brand new orange MP4-12C Spider which we decided to drive top down to enjoy the sights and sounds the day had to offer. Also driving with the top down makes for an even better camera car which I couldn’t complain about.
Hitting the road with well over 10 McLaren MP4-12Cs and a McLaren F1 was a rolling art exhibit for many unsuspecting drivers out on a Sunday morning including a Ferrari 458 that saw us on the highway and couldn’t resist taking a closer look. After a quick sprint up the Merritt parkway we took an even more scenic route through the countryside of Connecticut leading into New York. Once we got back on the highway we had an enjoyable run to Monticello (private race track) which is a great facility in upstate NY. The McLaren owners received a tour of the track and had a chance to take their car out for a few parade laps during lunch time which made for some great photo opportunities.
Enjoy!
